“The hardest thing I’ve ever been through.”

As we reported earlier this week, Alan Jackson and his wife, Denise, reveal on an upcoming episode of GAC's Backstory that Denise was treated for cancer last year. In an exclusive clip obtained by CountryWeekly.com, Alan talks about his reaction to the revelation that his wife had cancer, calling it "the hardest thing I've ever been through. "This woman right here is never sick," Alan admits. "I mean, she’s never even taken an aspirin for a headache. I’m the one whining that something’s always wrong with me."

GAC extends prayers and get well wishes to Wade Hayes, who was recently diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, reports Roughstock. Wade’s ’90s hits included “Old Enough To Know Better,” “The Day She Left Tulsa (In A Chevy)” and “On A Good Night.” He released an album in 2009 called A Place To Turn Around and lately has been an in-demand sideman for stars including Alabama‘s Randy Owen. Roughstock reports the cancer had spread from his colon to his liver, but after a successful surgery, Wade is now resting comfortably.
